Bandgap characteristics of the two-dimensional missing rib lattice structure

Abstract In this paper, the bandgap characteristics of a missing rib lattice structure composed beam elements are investigated by using Floquet-Bloch theorem. The tuning width and position is achieved changing local structural parameters, i.e., rotation angle, short length, thickness. order to expand regulation bandgap, influence material parameters crossed long beams inside on analyzed. results show that mass density stiffness have significant effects while Poisson’s ratio has no effect bandgap. By analyzing first ten bands reference unit cell, it can be found generates multiple resonance bandgaps for vibration reduction, these widths wider. modal analysis reveals formation due dipole structure, originates from coupling bending deformation elements. band vibrational mode 9th with negative slope corresponds rotational resonance, which different conventional formed two modes. This study provide theoretical design simple lightweight elastic metamaterials, as well suppression waves.
